The POGA Method is a mobile studio that blends Pilates (contrology), yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and mindset coaching into a powerful curriculum.

Our programs reach thousands of students weekly in Los Angeles, New York City and virtually. From in-classroom lessons, professional development workshops for teachers, afterschool classes, 1:1 family support, summer camps, and wellness retreats, POGA helps children build self-regulation, strength and focus - while supporting educators, school culture, and parents with lifelong tools for wellbeing.

School Curriculum

30-week curriculum for School Classrooms

Since 2015, The POGA Method has been a board-approved part of the Beverly Hills Unified School District curriculum, expanding from preschools through middle schools and professional development for staff. Mary's POGA program reaches thousands of students weekly across Los Angeles, leading to a 2024 expansion into New York City.

Most schools opt for weekly 30-minute lessons integrated directly into each classroom. The results speak for themselves: 98% of students request more POGA time during their school day.

Our curriculum offers students a meaningful break from their desks, helping them build self-regulation, focus, and flexibility—both mentally and physically. They return to academic tasks with greater concentration, calm, and stamina. Teachers consistently report faster transitions, improved classroom culture, and an increase in student wellbeing thanks to the lifelong tools POGA provides.

Book a consultation call with Mary to explore the best approach for your school. You can bring our trained POGA instructors in for weekly lessons, or invite Mary to lead an on-site training for your staff.

What teachers are saying about The POGA Method

What does a lesson look like?

Inner and Outer Strength Formula

Each lesson begins with a mindfulness practice—often centered on a social-emotional learning theme, breathwork to regulate the nervous system, and a mindset tool to help students visualize actionable steps toward becoming their best selves.

At the core of every session is our signature POGA Method (Pilates + Yoga):

  • Pilates, originally known as Contrology, teaches impulse control, mind-body awareness, coordination, core strength, and concentration—skills that help students return to academic tasks more focused and grounded.

  • Yoga introduces poses, flows, and breath-linked movement to build flexibility, balance, and whole-body strength. Through these practices, students process emotions and energy in a healthy, embodied way.

Lessons close with meditation—offering guided visualization, self-reflection, and a moment of stillness to deepen self-awareness and inner calm.

To keep sessions developmentally engaging, we incorporate age-appropriate games, songs, books, partner challenges, and group discussions. The result is a calm, focused, and joyful learning environment where kids feel empowered to move, connect, and grow.

With The POGA Method, children can intentionally transition between school and home with movement and mindfulness. We bring The POGA Method to your school or community space for Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions.

Praise for Damien The Cow

  • "DAMIEN THE COW will definitely get kiddos excited to get moving! The cute story, easy-to-follow yoga poses, and engaging illustrations make it fun for kids and their grownups alike."

    Sarah W.

  • "I love this book! It is a very sweet story about getting stuck and learning that once we find ways to center ourselves again, we can see things really differently. It is adorable, great for multiple age groups, and shows really accurate depictions of the yoga poses that it teaches. It is super creative. I am a psychologist and my child clients love this book. I have one at home too, and my four-year-old gave it a very big, double thumbs up."

    Tara E.

  • "I bought this for my daughter who I want to start doing yoga because she has anxiety. She absolutely loves the book! I also didn't expect it to have a great lesson in it about the importance of having a clear mind. I highly recommend it!"

    Hayley D.

  • "I adored this book. What I loved most is Damien the Cow is having a difficult time solving a problem. The events that unfold are lovely lessons even adults can relate to. I think there are lots of fun lessons for kids in addition to the yoga poses and breathing techniques. This is a fun interactive way to get your kids involved in yoga and learn how to help one another in a time of need."
